FORESTRY
Radiata pine grows quickly in a range of conditions in New Zealand and New Zealand is one of the world's largest producers - producing 34 percent of the world market. Japan is our largest export customer taking almost one-third of New Zealand's forestry products.

FISHERIES
New Zealand's fishing waters comprise a 1.9 million km exclusive economic zone, which is about 15 times the country's land area. Japan is New Zealand's largest market taking almost 1/3 of all exported seafood, especially rock lobster and snapper. Pacific oysters, greenshell mussells and salmon are produced by marine farming.

IMPORTS & EXPORTS
peoniesNew Zealand's economy is heavily dependent on overseas trade. Our main exports have traditionally included meat, wool and dairy products, but now include forestry products, machinery, aluminium, chemicals, fruit and nuts, raw hides and skins.
We import machinery, vehicles and other manufactured goods.
Australia is our biggest export and import market, although over recent years the Asian region has grown in prominence for both exports and imports.
