Welcome to Strathburn Farm in New Zealand

Strathburn farm is the home for Roger and Jean Gibson as well as number of horses and other farm animals. It is found in Central Otago in the bottm half of the South Island NZ.  From this property we run sheep and cattle of our 75 acres as well as grow 300 chestnuts and some lilacs as well. Our Internet business also operates from here.  This business Hollyhock Internet produces and hosts web p   ges for business throughout New Zealand.  You can check out our business web pages we host at http://www.nzsouth.co.nz.  We also run a website and online store known as the Central Otago Wine Cellar an information resource and sales outlet for the fast expanding local wine industry.  These pages are thrown together just so people can see who we are and where we live and some photos of our recreation activities (horses).  Central Otago has fantatsic rdiing country especially through the old Goldfields and also some great hunting country -see the Central Otago Hunt page for more info.

This is what home looks like in summer and .... in winter

Heres some photos of us having fun with the horses round home. We enjoy all sorts of riding mostly back country trekking and English riding including some hunting and eventing. Our horses are mostly crossbred types which are really popular for sport horses/hunters/eventers. They are various mixes of mostly Thoroughbred with some draught (Usually Clydesdale) and who knows what else Smartie has some Arab. / But heres more about opur horse interests

Jean and me swimming Smartie (I always wanted to be a hippotamus) and Solway (Why does Smartie have to like water so much) at the Lake a mile down the road from where we live

Me jumping Malta (TB with some Clydesdale) my baby four year old just starting to jump.
