Many organisations are committed to the preservation and promotion of the Otago Goldfields Heritage.

The Department of Conservation (DOC) manages the twenty-plus goldfields sites as the Otago Goldfields Park. Look for the DOC logo or the Park logo of the gold panning miner on the yellow oval signs.

The Otago Goldfields Trail links with a national network of Heritage Trails. Goldfields Trail sites are distinguished by the gold panning miner logo.
