Wine and Dine...
Central Otago is New Zealand's fastest growing wine region. Since the
first commercially produced wine was released in 1987, the region has become
firmly established on the international wine map.
In particular the red Central Otago Pinot Noir has consistently gained
recognition in wine competitions. White wines are also performing well.
The vineyards of Central Otago are the southernmost in the world, the
highest in altitude in New Zealand, and the people who planted them some
of the most determined pioneers in modern viticulture.
Indulge in the Pinot Noir heartland – fine wine and foods.
A rare place where the sweet fruit juice of just-plucked peaches
dribbles down the chin. Chefs love it, - gathering wild herbs
and fresh produce for their restaurants and cafés.
Chill out
at a famous Central Otago country pub for a much needed
drink, or pack a picnic of Central Otago gourmet foods and
fresh Central Otago fruit and take to the hills in search of a
schist rock with a view, to have lunch upon.
