ALEXANDRA BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

Alexandra's annual Blossom Festival is held on the 4th weekend of September. The Festival is the longest running community event of its kind in New Zealand. The activities are wide, varied & lots of fun for all ages & interests. Alexandra Blossom Festival September 16 - October 2, 2005 Held for 17 days each September, the Alexandra Blossom Festival features over 30 events ranging from wool shearing competitions and fashion parade, dances, parades, arts & crafts and amusement rides to garden tours and cycling rides. The Festival's signature event, the Grand Festival Parade, will be held on Saturday 24 September. Attracting an average of 25,000 participants each year, the Blossom Festival is held when the town's fruit trees are in bloom. Festival-lovers will be treated to one of the most extravagant displays of spring-time colour and blooms in Central Otago. The festival will be celebrating its 49th festival on September 16th to October 2nd 2005.
